Bronze foundry in Allerød
As something completely unique and rare in Denmark, the entire creation process takes place in Allerød at Æbleblomst farm with Danish craftsmen - first in the studio and then out in the adjacent bronze foundry. Right from the inspiration from the nature around Lina, to the idea and drawing, until the actual physical process begins. Those who order a work and other visitors can follow their sculpture and the process closely.

Lina models the sculpture in wax, then the molder starts shaping around her model. It is a long process. From Lina giving the model to the molder, it goes through the hands 10-11 times before it is ready for delivery. The process is that the model is placed in special casting sand, and two halves are made and Lina's model is scraped out and thus the wax sculpture breaks. Lina only makes unique shells, i.e. only 1 of each, then the molds are bolted together and 1200 grams of hot bronze is poured into the sand moulds, they cool and are knocked out, which is almost like a small birth. All inlets and burrs are cut off and the raw bronze sculpture is polished. Lina then starts with patination – either in the form of an acid bath or with her bundsel torch and finally it is polished so that the beautiful shiny bronze emerges.

Making sculptures is healing. The artistic process cures both physical and psychological wounds and provides good endorphins in the body. But make no mistake - making art is both emotionally and intellectually demanding, and Lina gives her works full attention throughout the process. When the work is modelled, it has to go through many work steps. From acid bath, sand casting, bronze casting itself, tapping and grinding to patination and acid bath and the final finish, where the sculpture is polished according to Lina's artistic eye.

Having my foundry at home means a lot to the flow of my art. I can follow the casting, and the molder and I follow the process from start to finish.
