Private art collector who commissioned a 2.5m high sculpture has shown great trust in me because they wanted me to create such a large piece for their home…

It bears the title "The core of the family" and weighs around 400 kg and is made of solid bronze. The sculpture is in fine company with works from Trampedach, Kirkeby and Robert Jacobsen.

We met in the studio, where I started by taking notes and trying to immerse myself in their lives. Based on my imagination and inspiration, I make a drawing that I model up 1 to 1.

It turned into a proud stag at the bottom with a planetary ring on its head – up it grows the tree with the elephant – above it grows an upward heart spiral and birds. Finally, the beautiful body of Mother Earth at the top. She holds everything that has been sown and grown throughout a lifetime. The 3 hearts symbolize their children and part of the leaves are their grandchildren, it has again been a great journey both for the buyers and for me, and I forget late when they came to see the sculpture, then there were tears and they were touched in their heart of my sculpture. It couldn't be more amazing...
